Put Simply:
Many default features in Jira (like Forms, Pages, and Goals) are not necessary and should be disabled or hidden.
Why It Matters:
Improves usability: Reduces noise in the Jira UI, helping teams focus on boards, issues, and workflows that align with firm standards.
Prevents misalignment: Avoids the use of ad hoc tools (like Forms or Goals) that aren’t connected to our delivery templates, estimation models, or metrics.
What’s Needed:
Jira project configuration updates:
Disable or hide Forms (Jira Service Management forms)
Remove or disable Pages (Atlassian Confluence pages embedded in projects)
Turn off Goals (Beta feature in some Jira project views)
Thanks for calling this out — we’re seeing similar feedback around reducing noise in Jira and keeping teams focused on core delivery. While features like Forms, Pages, and Goals are native to Jira and not always fully disabled at the project level, teams can minimize visibility via project navigation (three dots → more actions) and align usage through governance.
