Put Simply:
Scoping is rarely a solo effort—teams need to work together to define, refine, and align on project scope. This feature would allow multiple contributors (e.g., Solution Architects, PMs, Domain Experts) to collaborate in real-time or asynchronously during the scoping process in Concourse.
Why It Matters:
Enhances accuracy: Diverse inputs help catch gaps, validate estimates, and tailor scope more effectively.
Encourages early alignment: Reduces miscommunication by involving key stakeholders up front.
Reflects real delivery practices: Large, cross-functional engagements like SAP or Oracle depend on teamwork throughout planning.
Supports iterative workflows: Teams can respond quickly to client feedback and evolving strategy without losing control.
What’s Needed:
Versioning & draft states: Ability to save, track, and manage scope drafts with clear history of changes.
Concurrency handling: Support real-time edits or soft locks to avoid conflicting updates.
Notifications & UX: Notify collaborators when scope changes occur, with clear UI indicators and change summaries.
Data model updates: Track edit history per user and enable assignment of scope components (e.g., building blocks) to contributors.
Audit trail: Maintain change logs for governance, especially in regulated or high-complexity environments.
