Put Simply:
Many users think in terms of the Project Delivery Model (PDM)—not just offerings or client deliverables. Adding a “View by PDM Structure” option to the Offering Detail Panel allows users to see offering content in the familiar hierarchy of stage → substage → activity → deliverable, improving clarity and alignment between scope planning and actual delivery.
Why It Matters:
Meets user expectations: Engagement managers typically focusing in delivery and solution architects often work in the PDM hierarchy—this view provides immediate familiarity and confidence.
Improves scoping clarity: Helps users understand how offerings translate into actual tasks and deliverables, making scope selection more intuitive.
Aligns sales and delivery: Bridges the gap between selling the work (offerings) and executing it (PDM), creating smoother handoffs and fewer surprises.
Supports better decisions: Particularly helpful during scope refinement or RFP reviews, where users need to assess scope implications quickly.
What’s Needed:
Strong design that enables viewing a complex table within what is currently a smaller component. Consider some full screen option or other mechanic to make the table easier to read.
A toggle or tab in the Offering Detail Panel for “View by PDM Structure.”
Tree-based UI for navigating the PDM hierarchy, with support for filtering, expanding/collapsing, and in-line metadata.
Not in Scope:
Deselection of single work items from this view
At this time, there is not a need for this! If we hear that this is needed, happy to bring it back.
