Put Simply:
Many client contracts include milestone-based billing, but today, there’s no automated way to ensure those billing events are tracked and actioned in delivery tools. This feature would connect billing agreements from Icertis contracts to milestones in the Concourse delivery plan and trigger Jira-based notifications when billing events are due—helping teams bill accurately and on time.
Why It Matters:
Closes a major gap: Delays or misses in billing milestones have historically impacted revenue realization and firm cash flow.
Improves accuracy: Ties billing directly to the delivery plan and actual execution progress, reducing manual tracking and billing errors.
Drives accountability: Delivery teams receive proactive alerts when a milestone tied to billing has been completed.
Supports compliance and auditability: Creates a traceable link between contract terms, delivery activity, and financial action.
Boosts profitability: Faster and more accurate billing directly impacts the firm’s bottom line.
What’s Needed:
📄 Contract Integration
Pull billing terms and milestone triggers from the signed contract in Icertis
Associate each billing milestone with a corresponding deliverable or milestone in Concourse
🗂 Delivery Plan Configuration
Mark specific milestones or deliverables in the delivery plan as “Billing Triggers”
Store metadata such as billing amount, due date, and invoice reference
⚙️ Jira Automation
Trigger Jira notifications or tasks (e.g., “Send invoice to client”) when a billing milestone is completed
Allow configuration of workflows per practice (e.g., create a billing issue or notify delivery lead)
📢 Alerts & Reporting
Dashboard or notification system to track upcoming and completed billing events
Not in Scope:
Automating invoice creation or client communication—this feature focuses on triggering internal action to bill appropriately
