Put Simply:
Scoping often requires tailoring. Giving users the ability to add deliverables—whether custom-created or pulled from the firm’s PDM library—directly from the delivery plan page helps ensure delivery plans reflect exactly what’s needed for each engagement.
Why It Matters:
Enables tailored planning: Users can adapt plans to client-specific needs or changes without leaving the scoping experience.
Supports reuse of proven content: PDM-based deliverables help teams stay consistent with firm standards and reduce duplication.
Improves scoping efficiency: No need to rely on backend teams or exit the delivery context—users can manage everything in one place.
Critical for proposals and delivery alignment: Ensures everything promised to the client is represented in the delivery plan.
What’s Needed:
A UI element (“+ Add Deliverable” button) on the delivery plan page.
Modal or sidebar for searching PDM deliverables or creating new custom ones.
Flags to distinguish between PDM and custom items.
Validation logic to prevent duplicates or inconsistencies.
Versioning and audit trails to track changes for compliance and estimation tools (e.g., ePro).
Analytics on usage patterns to inform future enhancements or intelligent suggestions.
It will be great to have the search in PDM scoping to go and add some item form PDD all deliverables that potentially is not part of some offerings. Example: for some salesforce project if are going to implement experience cloud with data management part we will need to add penetration testing. Right now that elements is not a part of any offering and delivery standard. It will be good to have access to assets and content even if not part of offering to be able to add needed level of customization.
Also, having custom elements added in Concourse before adding them in Jira will help to keep initial scope in Concourse post activation.
