Work Item Approval Request

When I use the custom app "Work Item Approval Request" and set up a request to review a work item the app automatically changes the status to "in internal review." However, once it is approved through the custom app, the status does not get updated to "complete" The status stays as "in internal review" I have to manually go to set it to complete. Can you please fix this functionality?
