Ability to add a field of Categories to Issue type "Concourse Task" in JIRA to enable automation of Sub tasks

We have a request to add a field called "Category" in the issue type "Concourse Task" in JIRA. This field will have a dropdown with list of values. Using this field we want to enable subtask automation in JIRA.
